This policy explains what information Cost of Hiring collects when you visit costofhiring.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

Calculator inputs

Everything you type into our calculators is processed in your browser. Salaries, day rates, headcount assumptions and state selections are never transmitted to us, never stored on a server and never shared. Close the tab and the values are gone.

Information we collect

  • Analytics data. Aggregated, non identifying information about which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located at country level, and which referrer sent them.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs including IP address, user agent and timestamp, retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention.
  • Email you send us. If you contact us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply and follow up on corrections.

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not build user profiles.

Advertising and cookies

This site displays advertising served by Google, including through Google AdSense. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • To operate, secure and improve the site.
  • To understand which guides and calculators are useful.
  • To serve and measure advertising, which funds the site.
  • To respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not resell visitor data as leads.

Data sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run the site: our hosting provider, our analytics provider and our advertising network. Each processes data on our instructions or under its own published policies. We may also disclose information where legally required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold very little personal data, most requests are simple. Email privacy@costofhiring.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is intended for business users and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

International visitors

The site is operated from the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States under different data protection rules than those in your own country.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the page for at least 30 days.
